Belarus and Azerbaijan discussed prospects of scientific-technical cooperation

Belarus and Azerbaijan are going to activate the scientific-technical and innovation interaction in priority areas of the bilateral cooperation, including in the field of medicine and pharmacy, information technologies, biotechnologies, machine-building and nanotechnologies. This was discussed at the session of the joint Belarusian-Azerbaijani working group on the scientific-technical cooperation headed by Andrey Kosovsky, First Vice Chairman of the SCST, and Ibragim Said Ogla Guliyev, Vice President of the NAS of Azerbaijan, today.

During the session, the parties also discussed the issues of the implementation of the program of the scientific-technical cooperation until 2019, as well as the course of the implementation of joint scientific-technical projects, including the ones by the State Committee on Science and Technology and the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. It stands to mention that the SCST and the NAS of Azerbaijan held the first contest of joint scientific-technical projects for 2018-2019 in the field of agriculture, biomedical and pharmaceutical areas. The projects passed the procedure of coordination and are implemented in accordance with the calendar plan.

The Belarusian-Azerbaijani scientific-technical cooperation is implemented in accordance with the agreement between the governments of the both countries of June 3, 2010.
