The session of Coordination Council on cooperation with Joint Institute for Nuclear Research held in Minsk

The meeting  of the Coordination Council on cooperation with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research  (JINR) in the presence of the plenipotentiary representative of the Government of Belarus is held today in the rector’s office of the BSU. There are more than 5 issues in the agenda of the meeting, including on the inclusion of new members of the Council and the report on cooperation with the JINR in 2017.

 

According to Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the total volume of export supplies to the JINR was 1,810,400 USD within 44 contracts. The export of products makes up 1,266,600 USD and the export of services makes up 543,800,000 USD of them. The works carried out by the production and scientific organizations of Belarus for mega science projects of the NICA project can be mentioned among the largest supplies within the completed contracts with the Institute:

the development and delivery of a high-voltage electrode and a tooling kit for its fabrication and an  assembly to create a time-projection camera of the NICA-MPD plant (USD 153,300,000 USD; developers and producers are BSU Research Institute and Artmash Enterprise);

the development and approbation of a high-speed laser drilling technology for the creation of new types of GEM detectors, including GEM detectors of "well type" (25,000 USD, the developer is the Institute of Physics of NASB);

the development and supply of butt-end service frames “TRS Right Frame” and “TRS Left Frame” of the time-of-flight sub-detector (TPC) of NICA-MPD (257,000,000 USD; developers and producers are BSU Research Institute of Nuclear Problems and Artmash Enterprise);

the development and supply of a mock-up of the assembly of the MPD installation and the TPC sub-detector for NICA-MPD (173,000,000 USD, the developers and manufacturers are BSU Research Institute and Artmash Enterprise);

the supply of a high-precision optical system for a neutron tomography and radiography station (155,500,000 USD, the developer is the LLC “SOL Instruments”).

The next meeting of the Coordination Council for cooperation with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is scheduled for April-May 2019.
