Winners of National Contest of Innovative Projects of 2018 awarded in Minsk

A solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the National Contest of Innovative Projects took place in Minsk. This year, about 150 applications were submitted for participation in the contest. 84 projects were sent for further examination. 38 projects of them were nominated for the “Best Innovation Project”, and 46 projects were nominated for “Best Youth Innovation Project”. ‘The contest is improved every year, the conditions for its holding are improved, and participants have more opportunities for self-realization and creation of their business,’ Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technologies, told reporters. According to him, the largest number of applications in 2018 are in the field of computer science and ICT, medicine and biotechnology, as well as instrument engineering. Some projects are located at the junction of ICT and instrument engineering.

Djinn Multisensor is a complex sensor monitoring the ecology of the premises. It is designed to detect health risks and identify the reserves to increase productivity. It is an autonomous automatic station of the environmental control (an indicative level) with numerical values of control of parameters that have a reference character. The device evaluates 8 key parameters for compliance with the requirements of SanPiN. The sensor determines the content of CO2 in the air, volatile organic compounds and smoke. It also determines the levels of light, noise, vibration, temperature, humidity and electromagnetic radiation.

Hydrophobic composition for a prophylactic treatment of asphalt concrete pavements of roads

The project is a development of a hydrophobic composition for a prophylactic treatment of road pavements using petrochemical waste. To organize the production of a hydrophobic prophylactic composition, it is expected to establish an enterprise and rent a production space.

The implementation of the project enables to extend the service life of asphalt concrete pavement by a factor of 1.5 by protecting it from weathering climatic factors, as well as to increase the coefficient of adhesion of asphalt paving to vehicle wheels by 10%.

Craniofixes for immobilization of bone graft in neurosurgical patients

The aim of the project is to improve the results of treatment of neurosurgical patients by creating a technology that ensures a long-term immobilization of the bone graft in the postoperative period.

The objective of the project is to develop domestic craniofixes of the original design for fixing the bone graft after surgery / craniotomy. The invention relates to the area of medicine, namely craniotomy, and it can be applied when implementing neurosurgical brain operations.

Domestic analogues of special devices for craniofixation does not exist.

Cosmetic express anti-aging mask based on biologically active plant materials

The aim of the project is to expand and update the range of domestic cosmetic products through the production of innovative products that contribute to the optimization of comprehensive anti-aging skin care products based on biologically active substances of plant origin.

Analogues of this product are dry mineral masks for face and body, containing active natural components, such as sea salt, seaweed, green, blue and white clay, natural minerals, but they do not have a similar set of biologically active organic compounds. There are no similar products in the market of the Republic of Belarus. The used raw materials and materials necessary for production are of domestic origin.

An innovative project provides investments for the development of the production base of the manufacturing of “IRMA PLUS” glucometer of the new generation with a speech support of the glycemia measurement procedure.

Within the innovative project, a set of works on the development of the construction and manufacture of prototypes was made; it is expected to hold a state registration and organization of a mass production of IRMA PLUS blood glucometers and sensors for them to determine blood sugar on the basis of on the use of a highly informative liquid crystal indicator, microcontroller with advanced functions and memory chips.

The neuroblastoma DNA vaccine project provides for the creation of both a universal vaccine that can be widely distributed and a patient-specific vaccine (an example of a personalized medicine), the components of which are combined according to the results of the evaluation of the expression profile of the listed antigens in a patient's tumor tissue sample.

The proposed project is a solution of several plasmid DNAs that encode a combination of tumor-associated antigens most commonly found in patients with a neuroblastoma. An adjuvant, polyethyleneimine, is used to enhance a tissue penetration, as well as increase the immunogenicity of the vaccine. This drug is designed to activate the immune response against tumor cells. It should be used in the period of a long-term remission, when the immune system is restored after a course of chemotherapy, and it is used as a means of preventing the recurrence of the disease.

The project proposes the development of an innovative library of antibodies for a high-performance obtaining of antibodies for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.

Antibodies are today one of the best-selling classes of biotech drugs with a market volume of 60 billion USD, and are also ubiquitous in diagnostic test systems and researches. Antibodies are today one of the best-selling classes of biotech drugs with a market volume of 60 billion USD, and are also ubiquitous in diagnostic test systems and researches. The most widely used technology for the production of antibodies (a hybridoma technology) has a number of significant shortcomings, which lead to an increase in the cost of this process and to the impossibility of obtaining antibodies to some targets. An alternative is the creation of synthetic libraries of antibodies consisting of billions of different antibodies, the necessary of which are isolated by high-performance screening methods.

The key result of the project is the creation of an innovative production and reducing the cost of obtaining antibodies for scientific-practical, diagnostic and potentially therapeutic applications. The development proposed in this project (a combinatorial library of antibodies) possesses a patent purity and versatility, which will make it possible to use the results of the implementation of this project in all areas of the use of antibodies and their derivatives.

The main idea of the project is to create an affordable equipment in the apartments of young people with disabilities, which will help them learn to live independently, regardless of their physical characteristics. The project also has an informational mission, telling about how simplify the life of a person with a disability, elderly relatives, people of short stature and children in case of re-equipping the housing.

The main idea of the project is the organization of a serial production of a 3D printer with the characteristics of a professional equipment with the price close to personal 3D printers.

A 3D printer is designed as a platform on which the objects with individual dimensions and characteristics can be produced by applying successive layers of the material that follow the contours of a digital model. Thermoplastics supplied in the form of spools of threads or rods will be used as materials for printing. Printers of this design have a high print speed, as well as a large working surface that enables you to print large parts as a whole without gluing.

Modern atraumatic coating with silver ions for the treatment of wounds

ИAn innovative product within the project is a silver-containing bandage with antibacterial properties of a polyamide mesh coated with elemental silver. Silver ions affect gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The dressing is used to treat fresh and chronic plane wounds when localizing wounds in patients with high sensitivity to pharmacological drugs.

The economic effectiveness of this method of treatment of wounds is that the proposed coverage is 30-40% cheaper than imported counterparts.

The production of equipment for creating artificial shells on the surface of seeds with intensive drying

The project provides for the establishment of the production of the domestic equipment to create artificial shells on the surface of the seed, followed by its introduction into farms.

Seeds with artificial shells have a number of advantages in comparison with usual (not processed) seeds. Imported inlaid and coated seeds are very often used for the industrial sowing of oil-bearing and vegetable crops in the Republic of Belarus. The seeds with a shell are by several times more expensive than the untreated ones. The cost of the imported equipment reaches 40,000 euros for 1 unit, which does not enable to make a massive purchase of this equipment for the farms of Belarus.

Thus, the implementation of the project will reduce the cost of seed material and implement the program of import substitution, as well as open the market for the new equipment for the country at competitive prices.
