Workshop on issues of technological forecasting to be held in Minsk

The State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus jointly with the experts of UNECE is holding a workshop on “Methodological Aspects of Technological Forecasting” on November 8. The goal of the project is  to provide a ground for the exchange of information and experience on the methodology of the technological forecasting and the practice of foresight in various countries for the specialists in the field of the scientific-technical and innovation policy. 

The address of the specialists of leading foresight centers of Russia, Kazakhstan and Romania, possessing a considerable experience in the implementation of National and pan-European projects in the field of a technological forecasting, is expected to be held within the workshop. They will express their opinion concerning the methodology used in the current project on the formation of the complex forecasting of the scientific-technical progress (CF STP) of the Republic of Belarus for 2021-2015 and for the period until 2040. Such a validation of methodological approaches corresponds to the international practice of the holding of large researches in the field of the scientific-technical and innovation policy.

To develop the CF STP, 14 very important branches of economy were selected. The development of them determines the basic economic tendencies in Belarus and in which the main part of gross domestic product is produced. About 150 experts and specialists are involved in the work on the creation of the Complex Forecasting of the scientific-technical progress. There are about 640 objects in the base of forecasting objects at this stage.
