19 new industries opened by state program of innovative development in 2018

19 new productions were put into operation and 94 innovative projects were implemented under the State Innovation Development Program in Belarus in 2018. Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, told BelTA.

Thus, scientists were engaged in the development of  the promising technology for packaging integrated circuits and its integration into the manufacture of industrial, special and dual-use products and the formation of an innovative-industrial cluster of high technologies in the field of the sophisticated medical equipment, security systems and non-destructive testing equipment. There was a work on the organization of the production of high-tech complexes, optical-mechanical products, the creation of the infrastructure for the provision of medical services for surgical diseases of children.

To promote and implement the results of scientific and technical activities in the area of production, the SCST, together with the Ministry of Education and the regions, is developing an innovation infrastructure. ‘A developed network of entities of this infrastructure has been formed, including 15 technology parks and 9 technology transfer centers. Technology parks have been established in all regional centers of the country without exception, as well as in large regional centers: Pinsk, Novopolotsk and Gorki,’ Alexander Shumilin said.

The SCST is actively developing international contacts and cooperation in science, technology and innovation. In 2018, there were collective sections of the scientific and technical developments of Belarus at 12 international exhibitions. They resulted in contracts and pre-contract agreements for the supply of Belarusian high-tech and high-tech products totaling more than 8 million USD.

According to the State Committee on Science and Technology, the share of innovative products shipped in the total volume of products shipped by industry organizations was 18.6% according to the results of 2018. It is 2.6 percentage points above the plan. In January-November of 2018, the share of exports of high-tech and high-tech products amounted to more than 33% in the total volume of Belarusian exports, which is also higher than the planned values.
