Alexander Shumilin monitored projects of SPID in Vitebsk region

More than 500 new jobs are expected to be created at the plant for the production of sheet metal and tinplate in the Vitebsk region after commissioning by November 2019. This was announced today during a visit to Miory by Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus. According to him, the enterprise, which is being created, corresponds to the best world analogues in this industry and has no competitors in technological capabilities in the CIS and nearby western countries. ‘This project is included in the State Program of Innovative Development of the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2020. To date, more than 218 million euros have been invested in the construction of the plant. The supply of technological equipment and its installation is handled by the world's leading manufacturer of metalworking equipment, the SMS Group GmbH company,’ Alexander Shumilin said.

During the visit, the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology discussed prospects for the development of small and medium-sized innovative entrepreneurship, as well as the innovative development of the region as a whole, with the leadership of the city.
