Alexander Shumilin monitored SPID projects in Grodno region

Alexander Shumilin, Сhairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, visited “Gronitex” enterprise, which carries out a project for the production of yarn and cottonine with new properties based on modern types of natural and chemical fibers and threads within the monitoring of the projects of the State Innovation Development Program for 2016-2020. It is expected to use both natural and chemical fibers and threads in pure form and in various ratios, which will significantly improve the consumer properties of fabrics.

During his visit to Grodno, Alexander Shumilin visited “Educational, Scientific and Production Center “Tehnolab”, which is the only technology park in the Grodno region. Currently, the work on the construction of industrial park buildings is continued. In addition to the main activity of the technology park, there is a development of computer software, the production of video diagnostic complexes and the provision of video inspection services for pipelines. There is also a work with students and schoolchildren, including on the preparation of participants of Olympics.

The development of the innovation infrastructure is one of the main factors for the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements and the development of small and medium-sized innovative entrepreneurship. Currently, there are 25 innovation infrastructure entities in the Republic, including 15 science and technology parks, 9 technology transfer centers and the Belarusian Innovation Fund. At the same time, about half of the innovation infrastructure entities in the country have been created over the last two years.
