Alexander Shumilin laid flowers at the monument-sculpture of the Grieving mother

Chairman of the State Committee for science and technology of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Shumilin in the framework of the campaign " Belarus remembers. We remember everyone" and on the occasion of the celebration in our country of the 75th anniversary of the Victory over the Nazi invaders laid flowers at the monument-sculpture of the Grieving mother. Here, in the Chelyuskintsev Park of culture and recreation, Soviet prisoners of war, underground workers and civilians who were shot by the German-fascist invaders during the great Patriotic war are buried on a mass grave.

"The great Victory day-may 9-has always been and will be a significant event in the history of our people. Belarus paid too high a price in 1941-1945, and we have no right to erase from memory the horrors of war, and at the same time the desperate courage, heroism and feat of our people in the fight against fascist aggression. No, that would never happen. Because we are the victorious people! Alexander Shumilin said. – There are few families in our country that would not be affected by the war. My grandparents, like many of our compatriots, fought at the front, and my grandmother, when she was still very young, was a liaison in a partisan detachment."

The state Committee for science and technology, the national center for intellectual property and employees of the scientific and technical sphere, like millions of Belarusians, pay tribute to those who gave us peace, freedom and a calm sky above our heads. We bow to the courage and heroism of veterans who laid their lives and health on the altar of victory so that our native Belarus would be strong and independent, and we would live happily. That is why their feat and glory are immortal in the ages. Thank them for our life, for our children and grandchildren, for our happiness!
