Tinplate plant in Miory plans to export products worth 190 million euros to the EU countries

After reaching the design capacity, the volume of innovative goods production at the metal sheet and tinplate plant in Miory (Vitebsk region) will amount to more than 220 million euros, while it is planned to export products worth 190 million euros to the EU countries. This was announced today by the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Shumilin during the meeting with the "MMPZ-group" staff and management . According to him, the technical capacities of the plant allow increasing the volume of production up to 320 million euros per year, while increasing export volumes as a result.

“In terms of technological capabilities, the plant for the production of sheet metal and tinplate in Miory has no competitors not only in the CIS, but also in the neighboring Western countries. This is a truly unique facility that will allow organizing the production of various innovative products depending on the market demands,” stressed Alexander Shumilin.

The project for the construction of a plant in Miory is being implemented within the framework of the State Program for Innovative Development of the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2020 and in accordance with the Decree of the Head of State No. 271 "On Implementation of the Investment Project". Its innovativeness lies in the creation of fundamentally new production for Belarus, the CIS countries and neighboring countries - tinplate with 0.1-0.5 mm thickness. The equipment supplier was the leading global company SMS Group GmbH (Germany).
