Belarus is ready to implement a set of interrelated measures in order to increase the competitiveness in the domestic economy on the basis of innovative development. The priority is the formation and successful implementation of the State Program for Innovative Development and 27 scientific and technical programs where more than 17 thousand scientists and researchers are involved. We can see that contribution of science to the economy has increased significantly. In the last five years the share of Belarusian developments in the State Program of Innovative Development was 10%, while in 2020 the number is already 36. The plan for 2021 is to reach 50%. Within this program almost 10 thousand jobs and more than 60 innovative industries were created and modernized in four years.

For example, at the Borisov Plant of Medicines, the production of sterile powder of 8 import-substituting antibiotics (librasef, ceftriaxone, cefazolin, cefepime, cefoperazone, cefotaxime, ceftazidime, cefuroxime) was organized for the amount of almost 100 million rubles, 75 million rubles were shipped for export to almost two dozen countries (Armenia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Moldova, Latvia, Iraq, Lithuania, etc.). To fight viral hepatitis, medical scientists have developed methods for diagnosing hepatitis C and liver transplant rejection, the use of which makes it possible to prescribe the necessary treatment in the early stages.

ADANI has organized a cluster for the production of security systems, non-destructive testing equipment, medical technology, which, for example, made it possible to begin supplying domestic computed tomography devices to medical institutions of the republic in 9 months. The volume of production of innovative products of this enterprise exceeded 270 million rubles, more than 2/3 of them are exported to the markets of the USA, South Korea, Japan and the European Union.

Belarusian microelectronics is restoring its positions in the world market. At Planar, we have produced devices for correcting the microstructures of phase-shifting photomasks. Two of them, totaling $3.3 million, have already been shipped to Taiwan.

One of the most high-tech in the post-Soviet space small wire production of high-quality tire cord was opened at BMZ. Its volume exceeded 1.7 billion rubles, products were shipped for export for 1.3 billion rubles in more than 38 countries (Europe - 59%, the Middle East - 20%, Africa - 13%, etc.).

Belkommunmash has organized the production of electric buses - 45 units were produced worth 35 million rubles as part of import substitution programm.

The active selection work of agricultural scientists of the Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food allowed to create more than 90 varieties of high-yielding cereals, legumes, forage and industrial crops, which increased the share of domestic varieties in Belarus to 70%. Among them are spring wheat Ladya, winter rye Rosana, winter rape Severin; barley Kufal, buckwheat Alpha. These and other varieties worth 100 million rubles have been sown on an area of ​​more than 185 thousand hectares.

Scientists have introduced the technology of baromembrane preparation of mixtures for cheese making at the Slutsk cheese-making plant, Molochny Mir and Belavezha cheeses, which produced 190 tons of premium quality cheeses worth over 2.4 million rubles.

To ensure nuclear and radiation safety, BSU employees have developed an intelligent information system to automate the work of Gosatomnadzor employees, including at the construction site of the Belarusian NPP.

To protect the firefighter-rescuer, the Ministry of Emergency Situations mastered the production of a domestic protective multifunctional helmet, which is not inferior in its characteristics to the best foreign analogues.
