It is expected to hold a competition of joint Belarusian-Chinese scientific projects in early 2018,. The best projects, including the ones of young scientists from Belarus and China, will receive a financial support for their implementation. This was announced at the opening of the 4th Belarusian-Chinese Youth Innovation Forum "New Horizons 2017" by Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technologies of the Republic of Belarus. According to him, the forum platform will not only enable to strengthen the contacts of youth, but also find potential partners for the development and implementation of joint scientific projects in various fields. He also noted that in order to support, primarily, youth and student start-ups, the State Committee on Science and Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology agreed to establish a Sino-Belarusian center for incubating innovative projects on the basis of BNTU and Velikiy Kamenh Sino-Belarusian Industrial Park. The model for the creation and operation of the Center will consist of three main stages. At the first stage, a list of innovative projects is formed and implemented on the basis of the Center, which includes a startup center, an expert council, a co-working center and a rapid prototyping laboratory. The second stage is the creation of new innovative organizations, based on promising innovative projects, and their development on the basis of the Center. The next stage is the placement of high-tech industries and their support in Velikiy Kamenh Sino-Belarusian industrial park. It should be noted that 19 residents are already registered there.
Alexander Shumilin also said that the 2nd Forum of Silk Way, the Association of Science and Technology Parks, High and New Technologies Zones, was held in Minsk on May 23-25, 2017. The parties signed an agreement on the establishment of an international Belarusian-Chinese technology transfer center, as well as three documents on strategic cooperation between Belarusian and Chinese entities of innovation infrastructure in the course of its work. Another agreement, which is on the creation of a joint Belarusian-Chinese enterprise for the development and the production of the LHC, was signed as part of the work of the Sino-Belarusian Center for Commercialization of Innovations (the participants are the SCST, the NAS of Belarus and the CJSC "Company for the Development of Industrial Park"). There are documents on the establishment of the production of preventive food phytosols with a low content of sodium chloride (the executor from the Belarusian side is UE “Unitechprom BSU”). They are at the stage of agreement. There is also a work is on the establishment of a joint research and development center in Belarus with Huawei Company, which is to become the 16th R & D center of Huawei in the world.
