Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, discussed with LLC MMPZ-Group the implementation of the investment project "Construction and Commissioning of a Plant for the Production of Sheet Metal and Tinplate in Vitebsk region."

Currently, the pile works at the compressor station, the sheet rolling shop and the administrative building have been completed, and the pile works for the energy center building at the construction site of the plant are being implemented. The works on the construction of an access road, a tunnel for a sheet rolling shop and a housing for factory workers are under way. In addition, the work on building infrastructure facilities for the plant are also underway. The RUE "Vitebskenergo" implements the work on the construction of power supply networks. Thus, the work on the construction of the second stage (the reconstruction of the Miory substation with the re-commissioning of the 110 kV recharge) is going to be completed in December 2017, as well as water supply networks.

The innovation of the project is to create a production of the products that are essentially new for Belarus, the CIS countries and the near abroad, such as white tin with a thickness of 0.11-0.5 mm. The production will be organized on the equipment of the world's leading companies producing the equipment for steelmaking and rolling shops of metallurgical enterprises, SMS Group GmbH (Germany).

At the same time, a flexible technological line will be implemented within the project. It will enable to produce various types of products depending on the needs of the market.

With the commissioning, it is expected to create about 450 new jobs, some of which will be filled by residents of the region.
