Belarus and China discussed prospects of establishing joint scientific and technical centers

Belarus and the People's Government of Harbin (PRC) are going to consider the possibility of creating joint laboratories and scientific and technical centers within the implementation of “One-Belt and One-Way” Initiative of China. This was discussed at the meeting of Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, with Liu Yangu, Deputy Secretary General of the People's Government of Harbin, in Minsk. The parties are also going to intensify the scientific and technical cooperation in the fields of medicine and pharmacy, industry, ecology and agriculture and implement several innovative projects based on Velikiy Kamenh individual entrepreneur. It should be noted that an agreement was signed in Beijing on the key terms of the agreement on the establishment of the Sino-Belarus Venture Fund between the State Committee on Science and Technology, the Investment Company "China Merchants Capital" and the Chinese-Belarusian JSC "Industrial Park Development Company" on May 15. At present, a preliminary portfolio of innovative projects is being formed for financing from the funds of this venture fund.

The delegation of Heiludzyan Province (China) is on a visit to Minsk May 23-26. The visit program envisages participation in the Belarusian industrial forum and the second Belarusian-Chinese scientific and technical forum, as well as the visits to enterprises and research institutions.
