The National Center for Intellectual Property (NCIP) and the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (Turkpatent) signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of industrial property protection.
The document was signed by Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, and Farooq Ozlu, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey. According to the document, the parties are going to develop the cooperation in the field of the exchange of technological information for the economic development, as well as carry out joint projects aimed at using industrial property tools. In addition, Belarus and Turkey are going to exchange information on legislation in the field of intellectual property and procedures for granting a legal protection to intellectual property entities.
The cooperation agreement was signed within the framework of the Belarusian-Turkish Innovation Forum, which was held in Minsk. It was organized by the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of Turkey, "Polytechnic" Scientific and Technological Park of BNTU, the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey.
The Belarusian-Turkish agreement on cooperation in the field of science and technology was signed in Minsk on November 11, 2016 (it came into effect on June 8, 2017).
