Belarus to present electric bus and MAZ bus model on gas fuel at EXPO 2017 in Astana

The electric bus and the MAZ bus model on gas fuel will be presented by Belarus at EXPO 2017, a specialized international exhibition, in Astana. Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, said this at the press center of BelTA today. According to him, the philosophy of forming the thematic structure of the national exposition at EXPO 2017 is founded on the idea of the energy of generations as the basis for creating the energy of the future. The physical exhibits will be placed highlighting the achievements of the domestic industry in the field of energy-saving technologies at the exhibition space, which is placed at the disposal of the Belarusian side. For example, these are models of the MAZ bus on gas fuel, a combine harvester on gas engine fuel  and an electric bus.

‘Many people could already see the electric bus, we are testing it in Moscow and in a number of other cities. We will position it as the transport of the future,’ the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology said. According to him, one can single out the construction of a new ethylene-propylene plant at the OJSC “Naftan”, the construction of a new workshop for the production of ammonia, hydrogen and carbamide at Grodno Azot Concern Belneftekhim, as well as the construction "Belenergo" of the Beshenkovichi HPP on the Western Dvina among the most important investment projects of the national exposition. Alexander Shumilin singled out highly efficient powerful power sources for the wide application of the fifth technological order from the advanced technological innovations of Belarus at EXPO and program-controlled power sources intended for applying multi-layer microlayer coatings with a different composition and physical properties. In addition, it will be possible to get acquainted with the automated modular station for purification of drinking, process and waste water with the control via the Internet (the developer is the NAS of Belarus).

‘A separate part of the exposition will be devoted to the development of new energy-efficient Belarusian materials and solutions for energy-efficient houses,’ Alexander Shumilin informed. At the same time, a large number of multimedia clips is being prepared. They are both about Belarusian developments, and about investment projects, for which it would be desirable to obtain resources or to implement them jointly with partners. Also, according to the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology, eight interactive kiosks will work for downloading detailed information on the advanced developments of design bureaus and engineering centers of Belarus. Any visitor can download the information of interest to their gadget directly via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi on the spot. ‘We will use this technology for the first time at the exhibition, and it will positively distinguish us as a high-tech country. I believe that only we will present such a service,’ Alexander Shumilin suggested. The specialized international exhibition EXPO 2017 will be held in Kazakhstan from June 10 to September 10. It is expected that from 2.5 to 5 million people, not only from the CIS countries, but also from far abroad, will visit the event.  112 countries, eight international organizations and more than 70 state and private companies were announced as participants. EXPO 2017, which will be held under the slogan "Energy of the Future", will highlight alternative energy sources, which are one of the most pressing topics of concern of the world community.

The theme of the forthcoming exhibition is perfectly exemplified by the logo EXPO 2017: the petals asymmetrically located in a circle symbolize energy and perpetual motion. The exhibition will showcase the ideas and solutions for the renewable energy sources and the implementation of the green economy principle: buildings that generate energy for their own supply, smart homes, electric cars, biofuel cars and much more.
